Yup...


I haven't touched the 2002 for months now. I managed to part out the 320i and get some cool parts that I'll need for the 2002.. a bigger radiator, some stylie retro-wheels, a stub axle that will let me run an e21 diff in the 2002, some bucket seats, etc. All that and I netted $80 on the whole ordeal.

Autumn and I are trying to figure out if we can afford a house in the new year, so we're in cash conservation mode. That means that the project will be progressing even slower than it has been. There's still tons of reading up and figuring out to do in the meantime, and a ton of rust to sand out of the engine bay.



And here's the diagram I drew up to simplify all that factory wiring crap. I still need to tidy up the wiring, but it works like a charm. When the oil temp gets up to around 195 degrees the electric fan switches on to cool the motor down, then when it cools down a bit it switches right off. It's like I just built a robotic fan switch.


And finally... Autumn wanted to help out with getting rid of the pesky air conditioning system in the car. I handed her a 5lb hammer and told her to start wailing on the compressor until it moved:
