Whatcha gonna do with all that junk in that trunk?
So I found a s14 that an almost-retired BMW tech has had in his shop for 7 or 8 years. He has 4 2002's of his own and had been meaning to do the swap himself, but he figured if he hasn't done it in the last 7 years, he probably won't do it in the next 7 years either... so with a bit of reluctance he fired up his tractor and dropped the junk into my trunk.
A little context for folks who don't know what an S14 is and why i'm freaking out about this... the s14 motor is from the first generation (e30) bmw M3. This is a BMW motorsport motor. The only reason BMW sold the m3 to the public was to race the car in the european touring class "Group A". In order for it to be considered a production car and thus eligible to compete in the class, they actually had to sell 5,000 of these cars in the US. So BMW handed us a street legal racecar. Unfortunately I can't afford a whole M3, but I can afford the motor. And a 34 year old car that I can stuff it into (no not the benz, the blue 2002...)
Now i have to figure out how to get that 250lb lump out of the trunk and into the 2002...
